A comprehensive taxonomic treatment of this genus based on morphological as well as molecular evidence is much needed. Also typification of some species needs to be clarified. A few taxonomic studies have recently been published (e.g. Bunpha et al. 2013, 2019; Geiger 2016, 2019 and references), but there are several discrepancies between them.
