Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, southwestern, southern and southeastern China, Taiwan and southern Japan.
Note:— Du Puy & Cribb (1988, 2007) listed this species from Myanmar but cited no specimens.
Cymbidium suavissimum Sander ex C.H.Curtis, Gard. Chron. , ser. 3, 84: 137, 1928. Type:— MYANMAR. Without locality: imp. & cult. Sander s.n. (holotype: lost; lectotype designated here: fig. 67 in Gard. Chron. , ser. 3, 84: 157, 1928)
Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Bhamo District: cult. Ghose ex Kohn s.n. (not located), fide Taylor (1974: t. 671). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type; cult. Brown s.n. ( K) .
Distribution:— Myanmar, Vietnam and southwestern China.
Cymbidium tigrinum C.S.P.Parish ex Hook., Bot. Mag. 90: t. 5457, 1864. Type:— MYANMAR. Southern Kayin State: 2000 m, Parish 144 (lectotype K, designated by Clayton 2017: 75; isolectotype: W-R 45000 )
Homotypic synonym: Cyperorchis tigrina (C.S.P.Parish ex Hook.) Schltr., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 20: 108, 1924.

Kawkareik District: type; same loc., 1927, Parkinson s.n. sub Bogg BG 29 ( K); same loc., 1830 m, Apr 1929, Shwe Nyan Tha 5 [comm. Parkinson] ( K) . MON. Mawlamyine District : fide Aung et al. (2020: 75). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Cult. RBG Kew s.n. ( K); cult. Shuttleworth s.n. ( K); cult. Shuttleworth & Carder s.n. ( K). Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 71), but we have not seen material from this area.
