Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 73). CHIN. Mindat District : fide Kang et al. (2017a: 67); same loc., 26 Jul 2015, Kim s.n., photo . MANDALAY. Pyinoolwin District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 73). SHAN. Taunggyi District : 25 Jul 2019, 1250 m, Hervouet s.n., photo . BAGO. Bago District: type . MON. Mawlamyine District : type. Also reported from Yangon Region by Kress et al. (2003: 83; as Malaxis calophylla ), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern and southern China and Borneo.

Note:— Liparis elegantissima is treated as synonym of Microstylis calophylla ( Ridley 1888: 340) , and has priority over it by three years. However, we do not recognize a species based only on minor vegetative elements (leaves with a bronze-coloured centre and a pallid spotted margin).
