Distribution:— India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern and southern China, the Andaman and Nicobar islands and western and central Malesia.

Heterotypic synonyms: Dendrobium cretaceum Lindl. , Edwards’s Bot. Reg. 33: t. 62, 1847. Callista cretacea (Lindl.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 654, 1891. Types:— INDIA. Khasia Mountains: Griffith s.n. (lectotype K-LINDL, designated by Seidenfaden 1985: 75). Syntypes: MYANMAR. Tanintharyi Region: Myeik District, Griffith s.n. (K-LINDL); MYANMAR. Mon State: Mawlamyine District, Lobb s.n., cult. Veitch s.n. (K-LINDL).

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Myitkyina District: without collector s.n. (not located, possibly CAL), fide Pottinger & Prain (1898: 268, as D. cretaceum ). MANDALAY. Myingyan District: 13 Mar 2006, Khin Myo Htwe 49 (TNS [s]), fide Tanaka et al. (2015: 77); same loc., Khin Myo Htwe 94 (MBK [s], TNS), fide Tanaka et al. (2015: 77). SHAN. Taunggyi District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 81). KAYIN. Thaungyin Valley: 440 m, Baldwin 13571 (K), ident. uncertain. TENASSERIM. Parish 65 (not located), fide Parish (1883: 194; as Dendrobium cretaceum ). MON. Mawlamyine District: types; same loc., Wailis s.n. (K-LINDL). TANINTHARYI. Myeik District: type.

Distribution:— Northern India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern China.
