( Figs. 25 View FIGURE 25 D–F)
Diagnostic remarks. A small, nondescript katydid ( Fig. 25F View FIGURE 25 ), very similar to P. sparsa but distinguishable by more slender and more incurved cerci in the male ( Fig. 25E View FIGURE 25 ). The stridulatory area of the tegmina also appears darker than in other species of the genus ( Fig. 25D View FIGURE 25 ).
Bioacoustics. The call of P. nigropunctata is unknown.
Distribution and natural history. This species has previously only been recorded from South Africa ( Chopard 1955b) and Lesotho ( Ragge 1956a), this is the first record of its occurrence in Mozambique.
Material examined (1 specimen). Mozambique: Sofala, Gorongosa Dist., GNP, Community Education Center ( CEC), elev. 129 m (-18.953639, 34.177111), 21.vi.2014, coll. P. Naskrecki— 1 male GoogleMaps .
