scientific name

Gonatoxia
status

Gonatoxia sp. 1

A presumably new, yet undescribed species of Gonatoxia was found in Chimanimani National Reserve in Manica Province. It differs from other members of the genus in having a vividly crimson abdomen, whereas in all other species the abdomen is always yellow. Since only a single female was collected, we abstain from describing this species until more material becomes available.
