Thyreus histrio View in CoL is known from the Oriental and Palaearctic regions. The specimens mentioned in FRIESE (1909b, 1915) probably belong to T. nubicus View in CoL (LEPELETIER DE SAINT- FARGEAU, 1841), because FRIESE (1909a) synonymized this species with T. histrio View in CoL , but used the name nubica in the key.
