Holotype. ♀. BRAZIL: São Paulo: Pindamonhangaba, 26-X-1962, Eugênio Lefévre , Exp. Dep. Zool. ( DZUP).

Diagnosis. The black coloration of the clypeus will distinguish the members of this species from others in the species-group.

Description. Size: Length 4.5 mm; width 1.5 mm. Form: As in Fig. 109 View Figs . Integument: Head black; antenna brown, subapical region on last antennomere with yellow spot; pronotum with black macula; fore leg brown, meso- and metafemora yellow, tibiae brown, pterothorax and abdomen brown. Head: Eyes as wide as frons (13:13); funicular antennomeres considerably expanded, 6 th antennomere not acuminate ( Fig. 37 View Figs ). Thorax: Pronotum transverse (46:42), lateral tubercle prominent ( Fig. 67 View Figs ); asetiferous punctures prominent throughout elytral disc, epipleural fold very wide. Abdomen: Aedeagus not available.

Natural History. The type was collected during October.

Distribution. Known only from Brazil ( Fig. 125 View Fig ).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from apolegma (= hem of a robe), a Greek noun, and refers to the widened epipleural fold.
