Pujoliclerus ovatus Opitz , new species ( Figs. 26 View Figs , 55 View Figs , 81 View Figs , 98 View Figs , 123 View Fig )

Holotype. ♂. Brazil: Rondonia. 62 km SW Ariquemes, fzda. Rancho Grande , 5-17-X-1993, J.E. Eger, black light trap ( FSCA).

Diagnosis. The oval configuration of the hind body will distinguish the members of this species from congeners.

Description. Size: Length 3.5 mm; width 1.8 mm. Form: As in Fig. 98 View Figs . Integument: Head mostly yellow, with dark streak; antenna mostly brown, apex yellow; lateral pronotal sides yellow, brown at middle; fore legs mostly brown, base of profemur yellow, remainder of legs yellow and brown, pterothorax and abdomen brown. Head: Eyes as wide as frons (10:10); funicular antennomeres slightly expanded, 6 th antennomere acuminate ( Fig. 26 View Figs ). Thorax: Pronotum slightly transverse (30:27), lateral tubercle prominent ( Fig. 55 View Figs ); asetiferous punctures end at about elytral half, epipleural fold wide, gradually diminishing to elytral apex; asetiferous punctures prominent in anterior elytral half. Abdomen: Male pygidium incised distally; tegminal lobes as in Fig. 81 View Figs .

Natural History. The type was collected during October in a blacklight trap.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 123 View Fig ).

Etymology. The specific epithet ovatus (= eggshaped) is a Latin adjective that refers to the oval configuration of the hind body of this beetle.
