TYPE SPECIES: Ozirhincus longicollis Rondani, 1840 , automatic [by designation of the same type species (by monotypy) for Ozirhincus Rondani, 1840 ].
CURRENT STATUS: Unnecessary new replacement name for Ozirhincus Rondani, 1840 ; junior synonym of Ozirhincus Rondani, 1840 [ teste Gagné (2004: 215) ].
FAMILY: CECIDOMYIIDAE .
REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1861a): Acyrhynchus (page 288) and Acorhynchus (page 291). Acting as First Reviser, Gagné (2004: 215) selected Acorhynchus as the correct original spelling.
