ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Agelanius meridianus Rondani, 1863 ; Agelanius philippi Rondani, 1863 . TYPE SPECIES: Agelanius meridianus Rondani, 1863 , by subsequent designation ( Coquillett, 1910: 504). CURRENT STATUS: Valid subgenus of Dasybasis Macquart, 1847 [ teste Fairchild & Burger (1994: 70) ]. FAMILY: TABANIDAE .

REMARKS: Borgmeier (1933: 287) designated the same type species, but this designation was later.

[Agramyza] Rondani, 1845g: xlvii.

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Agromyza Fallén, 1810 .

FAMILY: AGROMYZIDAE .

REMARKS: Criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work.

[Agromiza] Rondani, 1856: 128.

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Agromyza Fallén, 1810 .

FAMILY: AGROMYZIDAE .

REMARKS: The earliest mention of Agromyza Fallén, 1810 using the spelling “ Agromiza ” that we have found in this study is in Perris (1848: 495), as an incorrect subsequent spelling. In Rondani (1856) this is either an incorrect subsequent spelling or unjustified emendation (by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” in the same work). We thus follow ICZN Code Article 33.5 in treating this spelling in Rondani (1856) as an incorrect subsequent spelling.

[Ahterigona] Rondani, 1877c: 15.

FAMILY: TABANIDAE .

REMARKS: Criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work.
