CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Chrysomyia Macquart, 1834 ; junior synonym of Microchrysa Loew, 1855 . New synonymy.
FAMILY: STRATIOMYIDAE .
REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “myia” to “mya” in the same work. Chrysomyia Macquart, 1834 is the earliest available name for the genus but in order to maintain nomenclatural and taxonomic stability, the I.C.Z.N. (1987: 148
[Opinion 1443]) suppressed the little-used Chrysomyia Macquart, 1834 in favor of Microchrysa Loew, 1855 .
