ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Sciophila marginata Meigen, 1818 (as “ Sciophila Marginata Mgrl. Mgn. ”).

TYPE SPECIES: Sciophila marginata Meigen, 1818 (as “ Sciophila Marginata Mgrl. Mgn. ”), by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Väisänen in Hackman et al. (1988: 221)].

FAMILY: MYCETOPHILIDAE .

EMENDATIONS: Mycomyia Edwards, 1913: 335 (unjustified).
