4. Henriettea granulata O.Berg ex Triana (1871: 144) View in CoL .

Type:— “ Venezuela, Secus flumina Casiquiari, Vasiva, Pacimoni in Venezuela australi”, 1853- february 1854, R. Spruce 3360 (lectotype: K000006405!, designated here; isolectotypes: B† [photograph F17262!], BR0000005222131!, E00505304!, G-DC00328210!, GH00072306 !, K000006406!, MG19681 !, NY00228619 !, P01818653!, TCD0005308 !; remaining syntypes: Brazil, “Barra” prov. Rio Negro , March 1851, R. Spruce 1386, P01818651!; Brazil, “ Secus rio Negro, Brasiliae Borealis, inter Barcellos et San Gabriel”, December 1851, R. Spruce 2075, BR0000005185016!, K000537031!, M0165436!, NY00228620 !, P01818652!) .

On describing H. granulata, Triana (1871) cited three syntypes, Spruce 1386, 2075 and 3360. The gathering Spruce 3360 is labelled with more complete information on the collection locality, as well as being better preserved, enabling comparisons with the protologue. Within the duplicates of this collection, we selected the specimen K000006405 as lectotype, because it is well preserved, and with substantial reproductive material attached to the branches.

It should be emphasized that this same Spruce numeration (3360) was also used by him to record two other different specimens ( BR 0000005187935, P01818593), which were analyzed by Cogniaux (1888) to describe Henriettea spruceana , which is clearly distinct from H. granulata .
