Type species. Pararana gaofani Lin & Li , sp. nov.

Diagnosis. This genus is similar to Jingneta Wang & Li, 2020 , Longileptoneta Seo, 2015 and Masirana Kishida, 1942 by the presence of spines on the male palpal femur but can be distinguished by the absence of a tibial apophysis (vs. tibia with apophyses in Jingneta , Longileptoneta and Masirana ), cymbium with transverse depression (vs. absent in Jingneta ) and patella expanded, with spines.

Description. Male. Length 1.91. Eyes six. Carapace brown. Median groove, cervical grooves, and radial furrows distinct, dark brown. Abdomen grey, oval, with dark pattern.

Palp. Palpal femur with ventral and dorsal rows of strong spines, tibia without apophysis, cymbium with transverse depression. Bulb with horn-like median apophysis and conductor, retrolateral lobe leaf shaped, embolus transparent.

Distribution. China (Jiangsu).

Etymology. The new generic name is a combination of “ para ” and “ masirana ”, referring to the morphological similarity of this new genus with Masirana ; feminine in gender.
