Description of Alkalihalobacillus lonarensis
CAU 1664
Cells are Gram-staining-positive rods without a flagellum. Colonies are circular, entire, convex, smooth, opaque, and cream-colored after 3-5 days of incubation at 30℃ on MA. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase activity. Utilizes D- glucose, L- arabinose, capric acid, and adipic acid. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and β-galactosidase activities. Does not utilize D- mannose, D- mannitol, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid.
