Description of Neobacillus soli BT 168
Cells are Gram-staining-positive short rods without a flagellum. Colonies are curved and cream-colored after three days of incubation at 25℃ on R2 A agar. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and gelatinase and β-galactosidase activities. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and urease activities. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N- acetylglucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain BT 168 (= NIBRBAC000508866) was isolated from soil from Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do, Korea (37°44′22.6″N 127°01′ 25.6″E) GoogleMaps .
