Chironomus pseudothummi Strenzke View in CoL
The chromosome set is 2n = 8. AE chromosome is submetacentric, CD and BF —metacentric and chromosome G— telocentric ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 18 ). The centromere regions of the chromosomes are characterized by dark thin bands. Chromosome G has three BRs (BRa, BRb, BRc). However, BRa is not always expressed. The NOR of this chromosome is near to the centromere region. The light band sequences between BRb and NOR in chromosome G are the maker of the species ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 18 ). The band sequences of arm A are in inverted state (A2.2), also the “basic” sequences (A2.2) (1) of the arm are inverted. Five larvae were analyzed.
Collection sites: Sofia: South Park .
Modified “thummi” cytocomplex, with chromosome arm combinations AB CD GEF.
