Chironomus obtusidens Goetghebuer View in CoL
Chromosome set is 2n = 8. The chromosomes AB and CD are metacentric, chromosome EF—submetacentric, chromosome G—telocentric. The centromere regions of all chromosomes are characterized by distinct dark bands. Almost in the middle of chromosome G are two thick dark bands between which a dark thin band is visible as a species marker ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ). This chromosome has two BRs and a NOR near to the centromeric region. In European populations, the species is slightly polymorphic, but in Siberian populations Kiknadze et al. (2016) reported 16 band sequences. Twelve individuals were studied.
Collection sites: Burgas and Varna regions in temporary water basin.
