Diagnosis and comments

This species possesses a fine and irregular punctation on the face, the punctation on the clypeus is very sparse and the mesoscutum is microreticulated but without conspicuous decumbent pubescence. Unfortunately the holotype is dirty and the pubescence could be denser than really seems. Augochlorodes incomitatus sp. nov. is known only from one female specimen collected in Rio Grande do Sul at the same locality as one of the specimens of A. clementis . The floral associations are dubious, as indicated in the comments for the preceding species.

Description of female holotype

Measurements. Mhw: 1.40; mhl: 1.42; den: 1.06; iem: 0.69; cl: 0.32; c–a: 0.32; c–o: 0.89; ml: 1.06; abl: 5.52.

Head. Basal elevation of labrum circular; clypeus with few and irregularly distributed punctures; punctures on supraclypeal area restricted to its lateral surface, lateral and central surface microreticulated; parocular area without a welldefined darkened stripe, its lower portion with sparse punctation of variable diameter; frons punctation shallow and relatively weak.

Mesoscutum. Longitudinal sulcus weak; anterior border rounded; decumbent pubescence inconspicuous; punctures fine but with variable diameter; microreticulation abundant, surface with a dull aspect.

Scutellum . Erect setae with few branches.

Mesepisternum. Entirely covered with erect and plumose pubescence.

Metanotum. Covered with very long and plumose setae.

Metapostnotum. Dorsal portion about twice as long as metanotum; its surface entirely microreticulated; longitudinal carinae weak and extending over the anterior one-third of its dorsal length.

Propodeum. Lateral surface entirely microreticulated; pubescence on the lateral surface erect and not plumose.

Metasoma. Posterior margin of S2–S3 with fine and recurved setae, posterior margin of S4–S5 with thick and simple setae.

Body colour. Bright metallic green with light brown legs.
