Type material examined — larva holotype ( RMCA 76131) from Dasymys incomtus (Sundevall) ( Rodentia : Muridae ) (= Dasymys bentleyae ), RWANDA, Butare (= Astrida), 2°36′S, 29°45′E,

28 Mar. 1952, collected by J. Jadin and P.H. Vercammen-Grandjean.

Additional material examined — 2 larvae ( IRSNB) from Desmodillus auricularis (Smith) ( Rodentia : Muridae ) No. 489.96, SW Africa (probably, Namibia), Kaokoveld, unknown locality, 28 Sep. 1911, mites collected by A. Fain.

Remarks — This species was known only from its holotype. Here it is recorded outside the

type locality and on Desmodillus auricularis for the first time.
