Type Localities. Brazil: S~ ao Paulo , Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul .

Type Material Examined. Syntype: male, pinned, “ Coll. E. Ross | Berlin. N 113 [b, t, cb] || COTYPUS [r, t, cb] || selecta [hw] | m. cotyp [hw] Spaeth det. [w, t, cb] || S. Paulo | Brasil. [w, t, cb] || S. Paulo 1911 | Brasilien [g, t, cb, added subsequently] || ZMH 823533 [w, bf, sf]” ( ZMH) .

Current Status. Valid species.

Remarks. Spaeth (1928) described this species based on numerous specimens collected by J. Mráz in S~ ao Paulo (NMPC specimens) and several additional specimens in his collection from various localities. Because he did not select the holotype in the original description, all specimens must be considered syntypes. The ZMH specimen is part of the type series, as there is another specimen with identical labels in the MM. We studied the type series, which is consistent; thus, there is currently no need for a lectotype designation.
