Pachyopsis pallidus View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs 64 View FIGURES 64 −82)
Diagnosis. Pygofer (Fig. 68), with ventral process short, curved distally, reaching the apical third of pygofer; subgenital plate (Fig. 68) in lateral view, very long, slightly surpassing the pygofer apex, broadened apically with macrosetae only near apex, grouped in line; style (Fig. 72) with blade very long, length from lateral lobe to apex two times longer than length from lateral lobe to base.
Type locality. São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, Southern Brazil .
Measurements (mm). Length 5.5−6.2 (male), 6.5−6.9 (female).
Coloration. Male and female: body ( Figs 64 View FIGURES 64 −66, 74−76) uniform pale yellow or yellowish-green (pale green in life), without markings. Eye and ocellus red.
Description. Head (Figs 66, 76), in ventral view, frons surface slightly rugose; maxillary plate produced ventrally as far as clypeus apex in both sexes. Forewing ( Figs 64 View FIGURES 64 , 65, 74, 75) translucent, with veins not elevated, veinlets inconspicuous, few and rare extra cross veins. Metatibia PD, AD and AV rows with 14−16, 10−11, 9−11 macrosetae respectively. Abdominal sternite II (Fig. 67) with internal apodemes narrow, long, slightly expanded apically and rounded. Other characteristics as in generic description.
Male terminalia. Pygofer (Fig. 68), with posteroventral margin slightly rounded; apex slightly tapered and rounded; ventral process short, curved distally, reaching the apical third of pygofer. Subgenital plate (Fig. 68) in lateral view, slightly surpassing the pygofer apex, broadened apically; in ventral view (Fig. 69) 5.2 times longer than wide; macrosetae only near apex, grouped in line. Connective (Fig. 70) stem with lateral margins strongly divergent apically; apex straight. Style (Fig. 72) with blade slightly curved dorsally, slightly constricted on mid-length and broadened apically; length from lateral lobe to apex two times longer than length from lateral lobe to base. Aedeagus (Fig. 73) with preatrium produced anterad; atrium wide; shaft apex tapered and rounded. Other characteristics as in generic description.
Female terminalia. Sternite VII with posterior margin nearly straight. Pygofer (Fig. 77) 1.7 times longer than maximum height; apex subacute. First valvifer (Fig. 78) 1.1 times higher than long; posterior margin broadly round- ed. First valvula (Fig. 78) slightly higher near base than near apex, ca. 10 times longer than maximum height; dorsal sculpturing starting at mid-length; apical portion (Fig. 79) with ventral sculpture present only near apex, continuous with the dorsal sculpture, apex tapered and acute. Second valvula (Fig. 80) slightly higher apically than basally, ca. 10 times longer than high; apex (Fig. 81) with 3 subacute teeth. Second valvifer ca. three times higher than long. Gonoplac (Fig. 82) 5.2 times longer than high; dorsoapical margin long; apex tapered, subacute. Other characteristics as in generic description.

Etymology. The new species name comes from the Latin word “ pallidus ” that means pale. It refers to the general coloration pale-yellow (pale-green in life).
Notes. P. pallidus sp. nov. is similar to P. similis Kramer and P. wappesi Freytag in having the ventral process of the pygofer short and the aedeagus with ventral margin rounded. However, the new species can be easily separated by the uniform pale green or pale yellow coloration (yellowish-brown to pale brown with forewing often darker than head and thorax in P. similis ; and yellowish-brown in P. wappesi ); the pygofer with apex rounded (acute in P. similis ); the style with blade comparatively longer and slightly curved dorsally (straight in P. wappesi ); and the aedeagus with apex comparatively narrower.
