Material examined. NEW YORK: St. Lawrence Co., Madrid , along the Grasse River, 28.vi.2014, em . 21.vii.2014, C.S. Eiseman, ex Urtica dioica ssp. gracilis , #CSE1205, CNC384881, CNC384882 (2♂).

Host. Urticaceae : Urtica dioica L.

Leaf mine. ( Fig. 75 View FIGURES 75–82 ) Initially narrow and following the leaf margin, later expanding to a broad blotch. The mines we observed were almost uniformly blackish, with paler greenish-brown patches only in the newest portions where the larvae were actively feeding.

Puparium. Reddish-brown; formed outside the mine.

Distribution. USA: CA, *NY, WA; Canada: ON, QC, SK; Europe.
