Type:— CHINA. Yunnan: Pu’er City, Pu’er Sun River National Forest Park, elev. ca. 1200 m, 22°34’51.74”N, 101°6’31.57”E, 20 April 2017, Ke-Wang Xu & Lei Jiang XKW318 (holotype SYS!) GoogleMaps .

Additional specimens examined:— CHINA. Yunnan: Pu’er City, Pu’er Sun River National Park, elev. ca. 1200 m, 22°34’51.74”N, 101°6’31.57”E, 18 May 2016, Lei Jiang & Hua Peng JL00363 ( SYS). VIETNAM. Quang Binh: Minh Hoa district, Dan Hoa Commune, Chalo village, 600 m, 17°40’26.43”N, 105°46’39.19”E, 13 November 2014, Li-Bing Zhang , Liang Zhang & Ngan Thi Lu 7440 ( MO); Dak Nong: Dak Glong district, Dak P’lao Commune, Ta Dung Nature Reserve, 1200–1400 m, 11°52’17.98”N, 108°1’36.98”E, 13 November 2006, Su-Kong Wu et al. WP1557 (MO-5959537).

Distribution:—Currently only known from southwestern China and Vietnam.

Ecology:—This species grows in broad-leaved forests. It is a lithophyte on rocks in humid and shady conditions.

Note:—One population of 40–50 individuals was first found in China and it was classified as Critically Endangered according to the IUCN guidelines ( Xu et al. 2018a). Two small populations were found in Vietnam, in Quang Binh and Dak Nong, respectively. Morphologically, plants from Vietnam are more robust than those from China.
