TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: of L. floridensis: Lake City , Florida, USA, in moss; of L. arboreus: Beltsville , Maryland, USA, on Robinia sp. [Plantae: Fabaceae ]; of L. fimetorum: Sellin, Rügen Island, Germany, in mushroom [Fungi] compost.

NOTES: (a) Evans (1958a: 224), Athias-Henriot (1959: 189) and Farrier & Hennessey (1993: 36) considered L. floridensis to be a senior synonym of Lasioseius (= Borinquolaelaps ) dentatus Fox. In this publication we have adopted the interpretation of Britto et al. (2011: 13), considering them to be distinct species; (b) Farrier & Hennessey (1993: 36) considered L. floridensis to be a senior synonym of Lasioseius scapulatus Kennett. In this publication we have adopted the interpretation of Britto et al. (2011: 14), considering them to be distinct species; (c) Farrier & Hennessey (1993: 36) considered L. floridensis to be a senior synonym of Lasioseius scapulatus Kennett. Britto et al. (2011) did not refer to this synonymy; in this publication we consider them to be distinct species; (d) Moraza & Lindquist (2011: 22) considered L. tridentatus to be a junior synonym of Lasioseius arboreus Chant.
