MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Norfolk Ridge. BIOCAL: stn CP 57, 23°44’S, 166°58’E, 1490-1620 m, 1 dd GoogleMaps .
DISTRIBUTION. — Found only in New Caledonia (Fig. 94), in 1490-1620 m .
DESCRIPTION. — Shell morphology. Length unknown, width 1.5 mm (single specimen examined, shell damaged). Shell solid, oval, with convex sides, narrower posteriorly (Fig. 93F). Only 1 whorl visible, forming the entire shell. Apex rounded, depressed, umbilicate (Fig. 93G), with the aperture lip conspicuously rising from the left side. Anterior end of the shell unknown. Umbilicus narrow. Aperture long, wide anteriorly, narrowing abruptly at about 2/3 of its length. Columellar margin slightly thickened. Sculpture of 5 irregular spiral grooves near the posterior end and 8 near the anterior end, absent from the middle area of the shell. Colour uniformly whitish.
Anatomy. Unknown. All shells collected lacked soft parts.
REMARKS. — The only shell collected was partially destroyed. This is probably a new species of Micratys that differs from all the species mentioned above in having a conspicuous wing formed by the aperture lip rising from the left side and connecting to the columellar region near the centre of the shell.
