TYPE LOCALITY: Syria, Thafas, 18 km NW Derra (= Der'a) .

DISTRIBUTION: SW Syria; limits unknown.

COMMENTS: Described by Peshev (1991) as a subspecies of C. bailwardi , but its small size and short tail clearly distinguish it from any other described form now recognized as a species; such an option was even suggested by Peshev (1991: 112).
