TYPE LOCALITY: Kazakhstan, Saraitschikowski (= Saraichik) .
DISTRIBUTION: N Caucasus and Kazakhstan to the Altai Mtns, and through N Xinjiang and W Gansu of China.
SYNONYMS: ciscaucasicus , coIlium, jaxartensis, kokandicus, montanus , satschouensis, tamaricinus.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Meriones . Reviewed by Corbet (1978c); regional reviews offered by Allen (1940, China), and Ma et al. (1987, Xinjiang).
