TYPE LOCALITY: Sudan, Sennar .

DISTRIBUTION: Recorded only from Sudan and Kenya.

COMMENTS: Although luteolus and harwoodi have been included in bottai, Lay (1983) related reasons, based on presence or absence of accessory tympanum, for provisionally regarding the species as monotypic.
