DISTRIBUTION: Nepal.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Alsomys . Reviewed and contrasted with A. sylvaticus by Martens and Niethammer (1972). Chromosomal data reported and contrasted with other Apodemus by Gemmeke and Niethammer (1983). Also listed as a distinct species by Corbet (1978c) and Corbet and Hill (1991).
