TYPE LOCALITY: N Burma, Shan States, Gokteik, 2133 ft .
DISTRIBUTION: Peninsular India, Nepal through NE India (Assam) to Burma, S China (SW Yunnan), N and C Thailand, Laos, and N Vietnam (see map in J. T. Marshall, Jr., 1977a).
SYNONYMS: darjilingensis, nagarum , palnica .
COMMENTS: Subgenus Mus .
