TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, C Sulawesi, Gunung Tambusisi, Tambusisi Damar, 4700 ft .

DISTRIBUTION: Known only from 4700-6000 ft on Gunung Tambusisi, C Sulawesi.

COMMENTS: A morphologically distinctive species; assessing its phylogenetic relations to other species will require systematic revision of Maxomys (Musser, 1991) .
