TYPE LOCALITY: Papua New Guinea, Morobe Prov., Rawlinson Mtns, 1500 m .

DISTRIBUTION: Papua New Guinea; mountains above 1300 m.

COMMENTS: True sylvestris has been recorded only from Papua New Guinea. Previous records from Irian Jaya represent other species or morphologically distinctive montane isolates related to sylvestris at either the specific or subspecific level.
