TYPE LOCALITY: China, Gansu, 30 mi SE Tao-chou .

DISTRIBUTION: China, Gansu and Ningxia ( Qin, 1991).

COMMENTS: Phylogenetically closely allied to M. rothschildi , and in same monophyletic group with M. fontanierii , a cluster defined by a suite of highly derived morphological features ( Lawrence, 1991).
