TYPE LOCALITY: China, Chihli, south of Peking .
DISTRIBUTION: Transbaikalia and Ussuri region of Russia to E Mongolia, NE and C China; limits unknown.
SYNONYMS: spilurus .
COMMENTS: The sole member of the psilurus species-group, which is defined, except for rootless hypsodonty, by retention of the greatest number of primitive traits of any species in the genus ( Lawrence, 1991).
