TYPE LOCALITY: Solomon Isis, Bougainville Isl, about 10 mi inland from Buin .
DISTRIBUTION: Solomon Isis; endemic to islands of Buka, Bougainville, and Choiseul ( Flannery and Wickler, 1990; Flannery, in litt.).
STATUS: IUCN - Endangered.
COMMENTS: Known by a few extant specimens and archaeological fragments ( Flannery et al., 1988; Flannery and Wickler, 1990).
