TYPE LOCALITY: Madagascar, Toliara Prov., Tsilambana .

DISTRIBUTION: Dry deciduous forest and xerophilous habitats in SW and S Madagascar.

COMMENTS: Eliurus myoxinus sensu stricto is actually endemic to western biotopes but its range approaches that of eastern species in the extreme south.
