TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Rio das Velhas, Pleistocene cave deposits near Lagoa Santa .

DISTRIBUTION: Isolated localities in NE Argentina and EC Brazil; range poorly documented.

SYNONYMS: chacoensis , planaltensis.

COMMENTS: Taxonomy and distribution reviewed by Avila-Pires (1972).
