TYPE LOCALITY: Panama, Darien Prov., Cana, 1800 ft .

DISTRIBUTION: Known only from easternmost Panama.

COMMENTS: Cabrera (1961) allocated pictus to subspecific standing under N. tenuipes , and Handley (1966a) concurred, but the relationship and status of this gracile form bear reexamination.
