TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Sonora, Rio Mayo, Camoa .

DISTRIBUTION: SW Sonora and NW Sinaloa, Mexico.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Teanopus . Type species of Teanopus , which was reduced to a subgenus by Burt and Barkalow (1942). Karyotype interpreted as highly derived ( Koop et al., 1985). See Jones and Genoways (1978, Mammalian Species, 108).
