TYPE LOCALITY: Venezuela, Merida, Las Vegas del Chama, 1400 m .

DISTRIBUTION: Mountains of N Venezuela.

COMMENTS: Placed as a subspecies of R. latimanus by Cabrera (1961) but distinct from the latimanus-venezuelae complex in Venezuela ( Handley, 1976).
