Distribution. Argentina ( Young 1977): Misiones ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999). New records: Tucumán (El Manantial, Lules), Salta (Mollar, Yatasto), Jujuy (Potrero de Yala), Corrientes ( Santo Tome, Bella Vista), Santa Fé ( Guadalupe).

Associated plants. Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb. ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999), Zea mays L. ( Luft Albarracin et al. 2009).

Biological data. Remes Lenicov et al. (1999) reported this species as one of the most abundant and frequent throughout the year in citrus agroecosystems in Misiones province, with three population peaks during spring, autumn and late winter.

Natural enemies. Strepsiptera Halictophagidae ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999) ; Cosmocomoidea abbreviatus (Ogloblin) and C. metanotalis (Ogloblin) (Hym.: Mymaridae ) ( Luft Albarracín et al. 2009).

Phytosanitary importance. Specimens collected in Misiones province tested positive for X. fastidiosa ( de Coll et al. 2000) so, considering its high frequency in citrus plants is considered a potential vector of this bacterium in Argentina.
