East Azarbaijan ( Ghahari & Jedryczkowski 2011), Golestan ( Lehr et al. 2007) , Mazandaran ( Wittmer 1967; Lehr et al. 2007) , Tehran ( Modarres Awal 1997; Ezzoddinloo & Mohammadian 2012), Iran (no locality cited) ( Yildirim & Bulak 2012; Mirutenko 2013a).
General distribution. Europe, Western and Central Asia, Iran, Siberia, Northern America ( Mayor 2007), Far East of Russia ( Tshernyshev 2012).
Comments. Stenopogon nataliae Richter, 1963 ( Diptera : Asilidae ) was reported as the predator of M. aeneus ( Lehr et al. 2007; Ghahari et al. 2014).
