Rhyacophila shikotsuensis Iwata 1927 , new to Yakushima

Rhyacophila shikotsuensis Iwata 1927 , 216, pl. 6, larva, Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu); Hattori 2005, 419, 424, 432, male, female, larva.

Specimens examined. Yakushima Island: 1 male, Domen-gawa, 240 m, 29.xii.1988, TI , S (SPMN-IS); 1 male, Yakusugi-land, Ara-kawa, 1200 m, 1–29.xii.2007, T . Yamauchi et al., M (T. Ito).

Remarks. This species belongs to the R. nigrocephala Species Group. Two adults of this species were collected beside two streams at 240 m and 1200 m a.s.l. ( Fig. 6G ).

Distribution. Japan (Yakushima, Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Mikura-jima, Okinawa-jima), Taiwan. New to Yakushima.

Japanese name. Shikotsu-nagare-tobikera.
