The male and a female syntypes of M. nigrifrons View in CoL are both deposited in the collection of MZHF, where they were kindly examined for this study by J. Kahanpää. Both specimens fit to Myopa occulta Wiedemann View in CoL (Kahanpää in litt), as does their original description. Therefore, M. nigrifrons View in CoL is herewith confirmed treated as a junior synonym of M. occulta View in CoL . This synonymy was published without additional comments in Kahanpää & Stuke (2014).
