Pacific Deep-Sea Asteroidea View in CoL

The most relevant monographic accounts for asteroids from this area begins with Fisher (1906, 1911, 1913, 1919, 1925) documenting primarily deep-sea Hawaiian Islands region and Philippine/Indonesian species. Chave & Malahoff (1998) included a new checklist of deep-sea species from the Hawaiian region as well as in situ observations of asteroids made by Hawaiian Undersea Research Laboratory (HURL) submersibles. Mah has described Indo-Pacific goniasterids (1999, 2006, 2015b, 2016a, 2018) as well as documented Atlantic occurrences (2015a, 2020) collected by Okeanos Explorer , including new species and in situ observations.
