Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina, Florida to Mississipi), Puerto Rico, Brazil (Pernambuco and São Paulo) ( Williams 1981; Christoffersen 1998).
Previous records. Locality not mentioned ( Christoffersen 1998).
Remarks. São Paulo was referred as the southern limit of the distribution of O. hayi by Christoffersen (1998); however, details regarding the source of that information have not been provided.
