Diagnosis ( Silvestri 1931b; Rusek 1964; Paclt 1969)

Body length 4.2–4.5 mm; epicuticle with microdenticles; short, smooth clothing setae; antennae with 22–27 antennomeres; sensillum of third antennomere in dorsal position; middle-sized, robust notal macrosetae almost completely covered with barbs (thin and with a few barbs in Slovakian specimens; Rusek 1964); thin pine cone notal marginal setae; 1+1 la, 1+1 lp macrosetae on VI–VII urotergites, 3+3 lp on VIII urotergite and 5+5 lp on IX abdominal segment; cerci shorter than body with 12 articles covered in long smooth macrosetae.

The studied material (Supplementary file 2) has allowed to draw the nota ( Fig. 53 View Figs 52–53. –52 ).

Habitat and distribution

Soil-dwelling species occasionally found in caves ( Silvestri 1931b; Condé & Bareth 2001), distributed around the Carpathians Mountains ( Ionescu 1955; Rusek 1964), extending towards the south throughout the Balkan Mountains ( Paclt 1969; Blesić 1984, 2000b).
