Holotype: Female. Body length = 1.28 mm; (m = 1.25 (1.17–1.34) mm, SD = 0.05, n = 10)

Head, mesosoma black; metasoma honey brown with posterior three-quarters of T4 and remaining tergites black-brown; all legs yellow with last tarsomere black; mandibles redbrown; A1–A4 honey brown with red tinge on A2–A4, A5–A8 brown-black; clava blackbrown; posterior margin of lateral propodeal area yellow.

FCI = 1.54; LCI = 0.99; IOS 0.42× width of head; POL>LOL>OOL in ratio of 11.9:6.5:0.07; eye large (L:W = 17.5:15.4), with dense short setae; frontal depression with fine, evenly spaced transverse striae; vertex and gena coriaceous reticulate; length and width of antennomeres A1–A 8 in ratio of 13.1:3.6, 5.5:4.1, 6.0:3.9, 3.5:2.6, 3.6:2.8, 2.9:3.1, 2.8:3.5, respectively; length and width of clava 13.3:5.8.

Mesosoma ( Figure 12 View Figure 12 (c–f))

Mesoscutum (L:W = 17.5:25.3) coriaceous reticulate with long setae; upper lateral pronotal area coriaceous reticulate, anteriorly foveate, remainder smooth; netrion predominantly smooth; lower half of speculum with incomplete transverse striae; mesepimeral sulcus foveate; mesopleural depression smooth; ventral mesopleuron reticulate; metapleuron above transverse metapleural sulcus smooth; metapleuron smooth in upper one-quarter beneath transverse metapleural sulcus, remainder striate; mesoscutellum (L:W = 7.7:15.5) semicircular, coriaceous reticulate with long setae; posterior mesoscutellar sulcus foveate with a smooth band beneath; metascutellum sub-rectangular (L:W = 3.2:9.1), laterally smooth, anteriorly foveate, with a broad medial vertical carina, on either side of which uneven foveae present; metanotal trough foveate; lateral propodeal area rugose; fore wing (L:W = 75.5:30.0) and hind wing (L:W = 64.3:11.0) hyaline with dense microtrichia; length of marginal cilia of fore wing and hind wing 0.09× and 0.36× width of their wings, respectively; length of submarginalis: marginalis: stigmalis: postmarginalis in ratio of 30.4:1.5:7.3:24.9, respectively.

(L:W = 58.0:28.2); T1with a black transverse line on anterior margin; T1 entirely costate except for a broad, smooth posterior margin; T2 with basal foveae, remainder costate; T3–T4 anteriorly reticulate, remainder fully costate; remaining tergites weakly punctatereticulate; length and width of tergites T1–T 7 in ratio of 11.9:11.5, 10.2:23.0, 11.5:27.8, 10.4:22.8, 7.0:21.3, 3.0:12.2, 3.2:5.2, respectively. T1 and T3 subequal.

Etymology

This species is named ‘ luteus ’, which means ‘yellow’ in Latin referring to the yellow colour of metasoma. The name is treated as an adjective.

Diagnosis

This species can easily be mistaken for C. indicus due to the yellow metasoma. The distinguishing characters are mentioned under C. indicus .
